The Second Shoot — Learning, Growing, and Dreaming with Ever and Alder
The second photoshoot for Ever & Alder felt like a deep breath. It was such a fun beautiful morning at Ohme Gardens. A moment to pause, reflect, and dream a little bigger. A reminder that this brand—this little corner of the internet I’ve carved out—is growing roots.
When I started Ever & Alder, I knew I wanted to create something thoughtful. Something that celebrates motherhood, womanhood, and the tender in-between moments that often go unnoticed. I wanted to offer more than just tees—I wanted to offer heart. And I chose the name Ever & Alder because it represents exactly that: the strength and flexibility of an alder tree, and the eternal (ever) love we carry for our people and our stories.
With every new design, every styled shoot, and every conversation—whether it’s a friend texting me a photo in one of our tees, or a message from a customer sharing what a phrase on the shirt meant to her—I’m learning. I’m learning about design and fabric and what makes a shirt feel like a favorite. I’m learning what it means to step into creativity and entrepreneurship with my whole heart. I’m also learning what doesn’t come naturally, and how to ask for help when I need it.
This second shoot was playful and honest. It reminded me that this isn’t just about selling a product—it’s about capturing a feeling. The joy in the everyday. The wild and soft beauty of raising babies and still dreaming big. My daughter was there, running through bubbles and chasing light, and it reminded me why I’m doing this in the first place. For her. For me. For us. For the little girl inside of me who always dreamt of creating something bigger.
I hope you’ll stay on this journey with me. I hope you’ll wear these designs and feel seen. I hope they’ll spark conversations or memories or simply make you smile in the mirror.
And I’d love to hear from you—truly. What words or phrases speak to you? What moments of your life do you want to hold onto and wear close? Your feedback, your suggestions, your voice—it all matters here.
Thank you for showing up for Ever & Alder. I’m so grateful to grow this little dream alongside you.
With heart,
MaryKathryn
